Located by the marina in Steveston, a former fishing village that’s now a tourist hot-spot, the Gulf of Georgia Cannery has stood since 1894. By the late 1970s the cost of maintaining the plant was so high and unprofitable that operations ended. It was handed over to Parks Canada in 1984. It sat empty for several years before it was cleaned up and opened as a museum in in 1994. And while it may sound fishy, the old cannery is definitely haunted.
