The Landing

The Landing
375 Water Street

The Landing is a multi-tenanted commercial building that was built in the early 1900's as a supply warehouse serving gold rush miners. In 1987, the building was completely restored to meet modern building codes and to preserve its history. This wonderful old structure overlooks Vancouver harbour and the cruise ship terminal at Canada Place.

The Landing boasts a large arched window on the north side of the building, facing the harbour. It mirrors the street-level entrance on the south side, connected by a long hallway. A security guard station is situated near the entrance. During the dark hours of the morning, some guards posted at the station have seen the ghost of a lady dressed in white. She walks along the hallway towards the north window. There, she stops and looks out to the harbour, then vanishes. Is she looking out in anticipation of an incoming ship? Or is she merely enjoying the view? All that's known is the senior security guards at The Landing cajole the younger ones into taking the graveyard shift for fear of seeing the white lady.
