John and Eliza Woods built the Pennsylvania Hotel in 1908 and named it the Woods Hotel. One hundred years later, in 2008, the the Portland Hotel Society restored it. It now contains 44 studio suites for low income residents. Construction workers experienced strange things during the renovations.
